SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Grand Valley State men's tennis winning streak increased to four as the Lakers shutout Lake Superior State, 9-0, in GLIAC play. The Lakers improve to 10-4 overall and 3-1 in conference action, while LSSU drops to 2-12 overall and 0-5 in the GLIAC.
The Lakers won all three doubles matches, although

Quinn Sylow in the No. 3 position were the only team to win without needing a tiebreaker.
Francis Bertrand/
Bryan Hodges won 9-7 in the No. 1 spot, and
Zach Phillips/
Alex van de Steenoven won 9-8 in the No. 2.
In singles play, Phillips in the No. 2 psot needed a tiebreaker set to win his match (7-5, 2-6, 10-5). The rest of the GVSU Lakers needed only two sets to win their matches, although Bertrand in the No. 1 spot required a tiebreaker to win the first set (7-6 [7-3], 6-1).
Grand Valley State returns to the courts on Sunday (Mar. 29) then they head to Houghton to take on rival Michigan Tech (1-10, 0-5 GLIAC).
