ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's tennis team returned to action on Friday (Mar. 27) when they swept Indiana Wesleyan, 5-0, in a shortened non-conference match at the Ramblewood Tennis & Health Club in Grandville. The Lakers, recently ranked 41st in the ITA national poll and third in the Midwest, improved their record to 20-6, while the 14th-ranked NAIA Wildcats fall to 15-4.
GVSU took all three matches in doubles play, with not a single Laker team giving up more than three points.

Kali Phillips won 8-3 in the No. 1 pairing. A fourth doubles match was also played as an exhibition, with

In singles action, only two matches were scored due to Indiana Wesleyan having a second match shortly after their one with the Lakers.
Abby Perkins (6-0, 6-4) in the No. 4 position and Patterson (6-0, 6-0) in the No. 5 earned the two completed wins. Dancz had won the first set of her match and was leading 3-2 by the time her match was called, while Phillips was trailing in the second set,
Carola Orna had lost the first set and was winning the second, and
Kristina Lucas had won the first set and was trailing in the second.
Grand Valley State hits the courts again on Saturday (Apr. 4) when they face Indiana (PA) at Wayne State University at 10 a.m.
