Box Score

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team posted their third win of the young season and their second consecutive shutout, this time blanking GLIAC foe Saginaw Valley State to improve to 3-0 overall and in the conference, while the Cardinals fell to 0-3.

Leah Dancz, fresh off her first win of the season last week over Lake Superior State, won the closest match of the day from the #1 position in singles competition. The senior won 7-6, 6-4 to open the dual match, paving the way for the rest of the Lakers to take control of the match.

In the doubles match, GVSU won all three matches by a combined score of 24-1, with the pairings of Dancz/Kali Phillips and Carola Orna/Alexa Sweeney keeping their opponents off the board.

The Lakers continue their three-game stretch away from home when they take on Hillsdale at noon next Saturday, Sept. 20.
