Kali Phillips fell in the #1 spot (8-2), and the Lakers went into singles play leading second-seed Northwood by one.
In singles action, Dancz was victorious in the #1 spot (6-3, 6-1), while Orna picked up the win as the #3 single (6-3, 7-5), and
Abby Perkins needed to go to a tiebreaker set in the #5 position (3-6, 6-2, 6-2) to get the necessary three points for the Laker win. Northwood was victorious in the #2 spot (7-6, 6-4), while the #4 and #6 single spots went unfinished.
Grand Valley State will face top-seeded Wayne State in the GLIAC Championship on Sunday, October 26, at 8:30 a.m. The two teams previously met on September 24 in Detroit, where the Warriors bested the Lakers in a tight 5-4 contest.
