ResultsMIDLAND, Mich. - The Grand Valley State women's tennis team opened up their 2014 GLIAC Tournament play with a 5-0 defeat of Ohio Dominican Friday evening. The third-seeded Lakers now stand at 11-2, while the sixth-seeded Panthers fall to 8-4 in conference play.

Morgan Patterson were victorious in the #3 pairing (8-4).
Moving on to singles action, the Lakers picked up the necessary two wins from Sweeney in the #4 spot (6-0, 6-2) and
Kelly Trapp as the #6 singles (6-0, 6-1) to end the match prematurely. Following the fifth point, the three remaining singles matches went unfinished.
GVSU now faces second-seeded Northwood on Saturday, October 25, at 3:00 p.m. The Timberwolves bested seventh-seeded Walsh, 5-1, to advance to the second round of the tournament.
