MIDLAND, Mich. - In their final regular season match of the fall, the Grand Valley State women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to Northwood. With the loss, the Lakers fell to 10-2 overall and in the GLIAC, while the Timberwolves improved their conference and overall records to 11-1. The loss also snapped the Lakers' six-match winning streak coming into today's contest.

Grand Valley State picked up the first two wins of the afternoon in doubles action, with Leah Dancz/Abby Perkins winning 9-7 in the #1 spot and Carola Orna/Alexa Sweeney winning 8-1 in the #2 spot. Northwood was able to get on the board with a win in the final match of doubles play.

Over in singles action, Alexa Sweeney got GVSU on the board with a two-set victory (6-2, 6-2) in the #4 spot. However, it was the only win the squad could get in singles play, as the Timberwolves won the other five matches of the contest to take the victory. The Lakers dropped a pair close matches in the #5 and #6 spots, losing 5-7, 7-5, 10-5 in the five-spot, and 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 in the six-spot.
