Photo GalleryALLENDALE – Back on their home court for the first time in over a month, the Grand Valley State women's tennis team won a 6-3 decision over conference rival Walsh. The win improved the Lakers' overall and conference records to 7-1, while the loss drops Walsh to 5-5 overall and in the GLIAC.

The Cavaliers took the first two matches of singles play, with both matches being won in straight sets (6-2, 6-1) (6-3, 6-1). But GVSU charged ahead by taking the remaining four singles matches to go ahead 4-2 going into doubles play.
Carola Orna captured the first match for the Lakers (6-2, 6-0), while
Abby Perkins faced the most difficult opposition of the afternoon for Grand Valley, having to go to a tiebreaker before pulling out the W for GVSU (5-7, 6-4, 10-4).

In doubles action, Grand Valley State dropped the first match 8-3, but the Lakers bounced back to take the final two matches (8-1, 8-2) to give them the 6-3 victory.

Grand Valley State is back on the courts tomorrow against Ohio Dominican at 10 am and again on Sunday as they celebrate their seniors before taking on Ashland at 10 am.
