2013: Appeared in eight games (six starts)...Went 2-0 with a 3.04 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 26.2 innings...Held opposing batters to a .250 batting average...Earned his first win as a Laker in the opening series, working four innings with four strikeouts and only three hits allowed against Notre Dame (3/5)...Went six innings, allowing only two hits against Missouri-St. Louis (3/10)...Had a season-high seven strikeouts in 4.2 innings of work against Tiffin (4/4).

Prior to GVSU: Played 2012 season under head coach Del Young at Owens Community College...Earned All-Ohio Community College Athletic Conference honors after going 2-3 with a 3.95 ERA and 61 strikeouts in 54.2 innings pitched...As a freshman, Ward pitched at Cleveland State University under head coach Kevin Kocks before the program was terminated in May of 2011...In his one season as a Viking, Ward made 16 appearances, striking out 31 in 42 innings of work, finishing in the top 10 of the Horizon League in both ERA (2.51) and batting average against (.157) in conference games.

High School: Prepped at Brunswick High School under head coach Todd Winston...Named all-conference, all-greater Cleveland, All-Sun News and All-Medina Gazette during his high school career.
