Grand Valley State (48-8) will host Indianapolis (36-22) in a best of three series at the GVSU Baseball Field, with the winner advancing to the 2026 NCAA DII World Series in Cary, N.C. GVSU swept through NCAA Midwest Region 1 action with a 3-0 record, while Indianapolis (36-22) had to defeat host Illinois Springfield twice on Sunday in Midwest Region 2 action to advance. GVSU has won 14 consecutive games, the longest streak since 2014 when they won 15 in row. 
 
 ° Grand Valley State head coach Jordan Keur is in his third year as the leader of the program, posting a 121-47 (.700) record overall. GVSU is 91-22 the last two years under Keur. He has guided the Lakers to a GLIAC Tournament title's in 2024 and 2026, a GLIAC regular season championship (2026) and three appearances in the NCAA Tournament. GVSU is 56-22 (.706) in GLIAC action under Keur and 15-6 in postseason action (10-2 GLIAC/5-4 NCAA). The Lakers are also 42-10 at the GVSU Baseball Field under Keur.     

° In addition to being one of the top offensive teams in the country, the Laker pitching staff has been equally impressive. GVSU is second nationally in ERA (3.54), fourth in WHIP (1.28) and 12th in walks per 9 (3.46). The Laker offense leads the GLIAC in BA (.340), on base percentage (.441), hits (609), runs (509), and slugging percentage (.510).
  
° GVSU has outscored its opponents 217-74 in the first three innings this season and have scored 10 or more runs 24 times (23-1) and are 38-5 when scoring six or more runs. The Lakers are 37-3 when scoring first. GVSU has outscored its opponents 546-214. In addition, GVSU has scored 14 or more runs 13 times (13-0), including 20 or more runs six times.

° GVSU set single-season team records for runs (546), RBI (504), and walks (294). Individually, Evan Morrison set a record for runs (88), Jovan Gill RBIs (89) and total bases (154). 

GVSU has scored 61 or more runs in six innings on the year. 75 (1st), 85 (3rd), 65 (4th), 73 (5th), 61 (6th), 65 (7th)...The Lakers are 27-3 when scoring in the first and 37-3 when scoring first.

While GVSU has only played 16 home games this season, GVSU is hitting .320 with 164 hits, 124 runs, 28 doubles, six triples and 20 home runs. The Laker pitching staff has a 2.88 ERA and is holding opponents to a .211 batting average. Laker opponents have 16 doubles, three triples and six home runs. 

° GVSU is currently in the midst of a 14-game winning streak, and had a 12-game winning streak earlier this season. The Lakers have won 12 or more consecutive games 13 times since 1981, including eight winning streaks of 14 games or more. GVSU has had winning streak of 12 games or more in a season twice, 2011 (14 and 32) and 2026 (12 and 14). The 2011 team won a school-record 52 games and advanced to the NCAA DII World Series.

 ° Senior CF Jake Skaggs - Second-Team NCBWA...Second-Team All-GLIAC...GLIAC All-Tournament team...Hitting .333 with 66 hits, 51 runs scored and 50 RBI...Skaggs has 17 multi-hit games and 15 multi-RBI games...Notched 13 doubles, three triples and five home runs...Stellar play defensively.

° Senior 2B Ayden VanEnkevort - GLIAC All-Tournament team...Hitting .275 with 50 hits, 46 runs scored and 41 RBI....Reached base safetly in 18 consecutive games...Tallied 12 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI games...Hitting .385 in home games with 20 hits, 13 RBI and 14 runs scored...Recorded eight assists vs. Missouri S&T, including two at home plate...Tallied 180 hits, 133 runs scored and 123 RBI in his career.

° Sophomore LF Caden Thelen is hitting .289 with 44 hits, 41 runs scored, 41 RBI, eight doubles, three triples and three home runs...Leading the team in HBP with 14, just one behind his father, Brent Thelen, who set the single-season marker with 15 in 1997.  In addition, Thelen has 13 multi-hit games, 13 multi-RBI games...Season-best 17-game reached base streak. 

° Freshman RF Josh Fleming - First-Team All-GLIAC DH...Hitting .416 in 37 games for the Lakers...Tallied eight doubles, seven home runs, 38 runs scored and 38 RBI...Tallied arreached base streak of 30 consecutive games...Recorded 15 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI games in 32 starts. 

° Junior OF Ryan Stimac is hitting .371 in 39 games with 49 hits, 43 runs scored, 21 RBI,  nine doubles and two home runs...Stimac has reached base in all 39 games he has played and has a current 12-game hitting streak... Tallied 12 multi-hit games...Hitting .385 in his last seven games with 10 hits, 8 RBI and 7 runs scored.

° Senior Pitcher Collin Bradley - NCBWA and D2CAA Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year...First-Team NCBWA and D2CCA pitcher...GLIAC Pitcher of the Year...First-Team All-GLIAC...GLIAC All-Tournament team...Sports an 11-0 record with a 1.71 ERA...Yielded 17 earned runs in 89.2 innings with 75 strikeouts and set program records earlier this season with 28.2 consecutive innings without allowing a run and 34.1 innings without allowing an earned run...Allowed two runs or less in 12 of 14 starts and logged 6.0 IP or more in nine starts...Leads the GLIAC in WHIP (0.85) and walks allowed per nine innings (1.81)...Fourth nationally in ERA (1.71) and fourth in wins (11)...Bradley ranks second in wins with 26, second in strikeouts with 204 and sixth in innings pitched with 231.1...Tied a program record with 14 strikeouts vs. Kentucky Wesleyan.

Junior Pitcher Owen Avery - First-Team All-GLIAC...9-1 on the year with a 2.73 ERA...He has 58 strikeouts and yielded just 21 earned runs in 69.1 inning pitched..He has pitched five or more innings in a start 10 times and has yielding two runs or less nine times...The Lakers are 12-1 in games started by Avery and opponents are hitting just .230...3-0 at home with a 0.98 ERA in 18.1 innings...19 strikeouts and two earned runs.

° Freshman pitcher Jackson Kees - GLIAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year...9-1 with a 3.57 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 70.2 innings pitched. He has logged 5.0 innings or more in nine of 13 starts and yielded two runs or less in nine starts. Kees' nine wins as a freshman is the top single-season total in GVSU annals. He ranks in the top five of six individual GLIAC pitching categories and GVSU is 11-2 in games started by Kees. 

° Senior pitcher Ethan Houghtaling - First-Team D2CCA All-Midwest Region...Second-Team NCBWA All-Midwest Region...First-Team All-GLIAC...Tallied a 1.80 ERA and recorded seven saves in 18 appearances and 35.0 innings pitched...Houghtaling tallied 33 strikeouts and yielded just seven earned runs.

° Senior pitcher Duncan McLaughlin has made 12 appearances, including two starts, recording a 5-0 record with a 2.72 ERA...He has yielded 11 earned runs and striking out 27 in 36.1 innings pitched. 

° Junior pitcher Zach Warren is 4-0 with a 4.32 ERA in 18 appearances and 33.1 innings...Warren has recorded 27 strikeouts and given up 16 earned runs. 

° GVSU has now won 22 GLIAC Championships and 13 GLIAC Tournament titles. The Lakers sport a mark of 62-21 in GLIAC Tournament play.
