Four Lakers Earn NCBWA First-Team All Midwest Region Honors

Grand Valley State placed four on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) All-Midwest Region First-Team, two on the second-team, tallied the NCBWA Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year in Collin Bradley and head coach Jordan Keur was named the Midwest Region Coach of the Year. GVSU will host Indianapolis in the NCAA DII Midwest Super Regional starting Thursday in a best of three series.

In addition to being named the Midwest Region Pitcher of the Year, Bradley was joined on the first-team by senior SS Evan Morrison, senior utility Jovan Gill and junior 3B Caleb Estrada. Senior CF Jake Skaggs, senior relief pitcher Ethan Houghtaling and junior pitcher Owen Avery were second-team honorees.

NCBWA First-Team

Keur has guided the Lakers to 48 wins heading into NCAA Super Regional action, the second-most wins in a single-season in GVSU program history. GVSU claimed the GLIAC regular season and tournament titles in just his third year. GVSU is 91-22 the last two years under.

Pitcher Collin Bradley - GLIAC Pitcher of the Year...First-Team All-GLIAC...GLIAC All-Tournament team...Sports an 11-0 record with a 1.71 ERA...Yielded 17 earned runs in 89.2 innings with 75 strikeouts and set program records earlier this season with 28.2 consecutive innings without allowing a run and 34.1 innings without allowing an earned run...Allowed two runs or less in 12 of 14 starts and logged 6.0 IP or more in nine starts...Leads the GLIAC in WHIP (0.85) and walks allowed per nine innings (1.81)...Fourth nationally in ERA (1.71) and fourth in wins (11)...Bradley ranks second in wins with 26, second in strikeouts with 204 and sixth in innings pitched with 231.1...Tied a program record with 14 strikeouts vs. Kentucky Wesleyan in NCAA Midwest Regional action. 

SS Evan Morrison - GLIAC Player of the Year...First-Team All-GLIAC...2-time GLIAC Player of the Week...2025 and 2026 GLIAC All-Tournament team...Morrison is hitting .407 and leads the league and ranks fifth nationally in hits (96), runs scored with a GLIAC and GVSU single-season record of 87 and triples with six...Morrison leads the GLIAC and ranks second nationally in the toughest to strike out category (6K)...Opened the year with a 31-game hitting streak and reached base in 51-of-55 games..Scored a run in 40 games and scored two or more runs 25 times...Tallied 30 multi-hit games, including 15 games with three hits or more...Reached base via a hit, walk or hit by pitch 130 times and accounted for 134 runs (runs-RBI)...Has reached base safely in 106-of-112 games played in his two years with the 
Lakers.

3B Caleb Estrada - First-Team All-GLIAC...Leads the GLIAC in home runs (17) and total bases (152), ranks second in hits (84), RBIs (67), runs scored (66) and fifth in the BA (.385)...Set the GVSU single-season record for total bases (152)...Reached base streak of 51 consecutive games was snapped vs. Kentucky Wesleyan...Notched 25 multi-hit games and 18 multi-RBI games...Tallied a hit in 46 games and scored a run in 43 games.

° Utility Jovan Gill - First-Team All-GLIAC...GLIAC All-Tournament team...Leads the GLIAC in RBIs with 89 and is second in home runs (15) and doubles (19)...Recorded 30 multi-hit games and 22 multi-RBI games...Has a current 14-game hitting streak and 17-game reached base streak...Driven in a run in 43 games.

NCBWA Second-Team

Pitcher Owen Avery - First-Team All-GLIAC...9-1 on the year with a 2.73 ERA...He has 58 strikeouts and yielded just 21 earned runs in 69.1 inning pitched..He has pitched five or more innings in a start 10 times and has yielding two runs or less nine times...The Lakers are 12-1 in games started by Avery and opponents are hitting just .230.

Pitcher Ethan Houghtaling - First-Team All-GLIAC...Tallied a 1.85 ERA and recorded seven saves in 18 appearances and 34.0 innings pitched...Houghtaling tallied 33 strikeouts and yielded just seven earned runs.

CF Jake Skaggs - Second-Team All-GLIAC...GLIAC All-Tournament team...Hitting .333 with 65 hits, 51 runs scored and 50 RBI...Skaggs has 17 multi-hit games and 15 multi-RBI games...Notched 13 doubles, three triples and five home runs...Stellar play defensively.
