ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State softball team travels to Northwood for a nonconference doubleheader on Wednesday, April 15
th. First pitch for game one is set for 3:00 PM in Midland, Michigan.
GVSU is 19-19 on the season and 9-7 in the GLIAC. Freshman
Kylee Hoebeke was named the GLIAC player of the week for the first time in her career. Hoebeke drove in a career high eight RBI with a home run and triple in the win at Roosevelt. She launched her third home run of the season at Davenport last Sunday. Freshman
Camryn Hall leads GVSU with a .432 batting average with 54 hits and 30 runs scored. Hall also leads the Lakers with 11 stolen bases in 12 attempts. Sophomore
Grace Usher is hitting .373 on the season with a team leading three home runs and 30 RBI. Sophomore
Karli Dorr has posted an 8-3 record with a 2.39 ERA in the circle. Dorr has tossed nine complete games with a team leading 82 strikeouts.
Northwood 15-17 overall on the season and 8-6 in the GMAC. The Timberwolves have won four straight game and are hitting .285 on the season. Brinley Eckerman leads the Northwood offense with a .374 average with 40 hits and 22 runs scored. Jenna Kowalski has notched a .371 average with 26 hits, 13 runs scored, and four doubles. Ashley Ziel is hitting .370 and ranks second on Northwood with 37 hits and 22 RBI. Kamden Binney has posted a 2.12 ERA with a 9-6 record in the circle this season. Dalaney Gage leads the Timberwolves with 60 strikeouts in 70 innings pitched.
