LENOIR CITY, TENN. – The Grand Valley State men's golf team teed off in their third tournament of the spring, taking part in the Tennessee River Rumble. After the opening two rounds of action, the Lakers are in fifth place.
Results
Wingate leads the field at five under par, with host Lincoln Memorial one shot back of them in second. Catawba is in third, shooting even par, followed by USC Beaufort at two over. The Lakers are in fifth, shooting five over.
Andrew Gwilliams had two strong rounds, shooting a 71 (-1) and 70 (-2). He made eight birdies to end in third place. Finely Dober and
Bryce Wheeler are in a tie for 30
th at three over. Wheeler had a round of 75 (+3) and a 72 (E), with three birdies and an eagle, while Dober made eight birdies in his rounds of 73 (+1) and 74 (+2).
Manuel Cue Vargas sank seven birdies in his rounds of 77 (+5) and 72, to end in a tie for 42 at five over. In a tie for 46

Maverick Conaway, who carded a 74 and a 76 (+4), with four birdies.
Murphy Kehoe shot a 78 (+6) and an 82 (+10) with four birdies, ending in 83
rd.
The Lakers will play the final round tomorrow, paired with Erskine, North Georgia, and Anderson. They will tee off at 9:00 in the morning.
