ALLENDALE, Mich. – To nobody's surprise,
Erika Beistle, two-time NCAA Division II record holder, has been named this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) M-F Athletic NCAA Division II National Athlete of the Week. The honor follows Beistle's record-breaking outing at this weekend's GVSU Big Meet.
The redshirt senior has been on a tear this season, updating her personal-best in the event week after week. Just three weeks ago, she broke the record with a 17.78m (58-4) mark to pass Zada Swoopes's 17.68m (58-0.25) mark from 2022.
Beistle continued that trend this weekend. On her third throw of the day, she rewrote the NCAA Division II record, launching for 18.26m (59-11) and outhrowing Olympian Adelaide Aquilla. With her updated mark, Beistle ranks fifth across all NCAA divisions and 18th in the world.
This week's honor marks Beistle's third M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week award of the 2025-26 indoor track and field season.
