The 60m hurdles kickstarted the sprints events. Dominic Downes took the crown in the men's event at 8.07, while Lance Riddle (8.26), Justus Reynolds (8.58) and Andrew Kraft (8.91) all recorded new personal-best times.

GVSU debuted their distance medley relay (DMR) squad at today's Big Meet. The women's 'A' team comprised of Cara Newman, Alaina Diaz, Daisy Speet and Megan Postma completed the 1200-400-800-1600 relay in 11:27.88. The finish effectively punches their ticket to the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships, ranking fourth in DII and puts them at No. 10 in program history.

The men's team proceeded to dominate competition. Flynn Pumpa, Joshua Page, Sam Allen and Owen Westerkamp combined for a finish at 9:38.59. The finish not only shattered the 2021 program record (9:39:38), but also serves as the current lead across all collegiate institutions – yes, even Division I.

The women preceded the men in high jump, an event five Laker ladies dominated. Ashley Atkins took second in the event, tying her personal-best bar of 1.58m (5-2.25) while Heidi Newhouse, Imogene Brumbaugh and Lauren Rokos tied for third with the same mark, just falling short on the count back.

Ava Collier earned a crown of her own in pole vault. The sophomore cleared an indoor personal-best 3.52m (11-6.5) to place first in the event. Giuliana Serapiglia and Shaylee McCain tied for third with a bar of 3.37m (11-0.75) and Cassidy Bowden cleared a personal-best 3.22m (10-6.75) to place 10th.

Mirra Fenlon and Grace Moeggenborg found a 2-3 finish in women's long jump today. Fenlon ranked second with a personal-best 5.48m (17-11.75) mark while Moeggenborg found third with a mark of 5.38m (17-8).

Emily Stinson, Avery Lahti and Sofiabella Amirante all found a top 10 finish in shot put this afternoon. Stinson led the way with a personal-best 14.06m (46-1.50) mark, ranking 24th in NCAA DII. Lahti ranked fourth with a throw at 13.64m (44-9) and Amirante found seventh, throwing for 13.08m (42-11).

The No. 2 ranked men and No. 3 ranked women close out the regular indoor season next Friday, February 20 as they host the GVSU Tune-Up. More information will be available on gvsulakers.com soon.
