GVSU Baseball Sweeps GLIAC Weekly Honors

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) announced today that senior shortstop, Evan Morrison, and senior pitcher, Collin Bradley, have been named the GLIAC Player and Pitcher of the Week. GVSU won three-of-four games versus the nationally-ranked Northwood Timberwolves in Marion, Ill. 

Morrison turned in a record-setting weekend, hitting .788 (13-18), with three triples, three doubles, 10 runs scored and three RBI versus #9 Northwood. In addition, Morrison tallied 22 total bases, a 1.222 slugging percentage, .750 on base percentage, 1.972 OPS and was 3-for-3 in stolen bases as the #15 Lakers captured the series win. Morrison opened the 2026 campaign by going 8-for-8 and reaching base in each of his first nine plate appearances. A first-team All-GLIAC performer in 2025, he reached base in 15-of-his-20 plate appearances in the four-game series. 

Bradley picked up the pitching win in his first start of the season versus #9 Northwood to open the 2026 campaign, He went 5.0 innings, yielding no runs on four hits with five strikeouts and allowed just two runners past first base. Bradley, who was an All-GLIAC performer in 2025,  improved to 16-7 in his 23 career starts.

Grand Valley State will hit the road for a three-game series at Cedarville starting Friday (Feb. 20).
