#15 Grand Valley State claimed a 23-5 victory over #9 Northwood Saturday at Mountain Dew Park in Marion, Illinois. The Lakers, now 3-0, will look to complete the four-game sweep over the Timberwolves Sunday at 1 p.m. (ET).

The Lakers scored early and often for the third consecutive game, pushing five runs across in the bottom of the first on six singles. SS

Northwood scored a pair of runs in the top of the second, but Estrada came through with a two-out single that drove in a pair. The Lakers added five more runs in the bottom of the third, two on Morrison triple to right, one on a Gill single and another on a Skaggs single. Gill then scored on a wild pitch. Gill added another RBI with a double in the bottom of the fourth and Bowen drove in two more with a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth.Â

The Laker reserves put up eight runs on five hits in the bottom of the eighth. Freshman

Morrison was 4-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBI, while Gill was 3-for-3 with three RBI and four runs scored. Skaggs was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Estrada was 2-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored. Bowen was 2-for-4 with four RBI and two runs, followed by Warren who drove in two and Flemming who added two hits and an RBI. Wilhelmi drove in a pair of runs and Scott plated a run on his single.Â
