Men's Golf Finishes Ninth at Folds of Honor

GRAND HAVEN, MICH. – The Grand Valley State men's golf team closed out their time at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, finishing in ninth. This marks their top finish in their four years of the events.

Alabama claimed their second straight win at the event, ending the three rounds at five under. Notre Dame was the runner-up, carding a one over. Cincinnati and Kansas were tied for third at 11 over, with California in fifth, finishing at +12.
 
Manuel Cue ended in a tie for 11th at two over par following his final round of 73 (+2) with five birdies. Bryce Wheeler, Maverick Conaway, and Charlie Cooley were all tied for 28th at seven over. Wheeler shot a 73 with four birdies today, while Conaway and Cooley each carded a 75 (+4). Conaway made an eagle and a birdie and Cooley sank one birdie. Ryan Gallagher shot a 76 (+5) today, making three birdies to end in a tie for 42nd at 11 over.
 
The Lakers take part in their lone home event of the fall season next week, playing in the Folds of Honor Challenge at the Meadows. The three-day tournament takes place from September 15th-17th.
