Men's Golf Ends Day Two Of Regionals In Fifth

ST. JOSEPH, MO. – The GVSU men's golf team closed out round two at the NCAA Regional tournament, ending in a tie for fifth. They will play one more round tomorrow to try and qualify for the national tournament.

Central Oklahoma continues to lead, finishing round two at four over. Saginaw Valley State is in second, ending at +15. Findlay and Arkansas Tech are both tied for third, shooting +16 over the first two days. There is a four-way tie for fifth, with the Lakers tied with UMSL, Missouri S&T, and Harding, all at +17.
 
 Manuel Cue continued his strong play, carding a second round score of 69 (-2). He made three birdies to finish in a tie for second at two under. Drew Coble is tied for 29th at five over, shooting 75 (+4) with one birdie today. Charlie Cooley also sank one birdie in his round of 73 (+2), ending in a tie for 37th at six over. Bryce Wheeler is tied for 54th at eight over, shooting a second round of74 (+3) with three birdies. Ryan Gallagher made two birdies in his round of 79 (+8) to finish the two rounds tied for 98th at +16.
 
The Lakers will play alongside Harding and Ferris State in round three. They will tee off starting at 11:00.
