ST. JOSEPH, MO. – The GVSU men's golf team teed off in regional action this morning, playing the first 18 holes of the tournament. After day one, the Lakers are in a tie for fifth, two strokes out of the top three.
Results
In the lead is Central Oklahoma, sitting 10 strokes up on the competition at four under. Central Missouri is second, ending with a score of six over. Arkansas Tech and Missouri S&T are both tied for third, shooting eight over in round one. The Lakers are tied with Concordia-St. Paul for fifth, as they both carded ten overs today.
Manuel Cue shot an even par 71 today, sinking five birdies in his round to end in a tie for sixth.
Drew Coble is tied for 13
th after his round of 72 (+1), making three birdies.
Charlie Cooley finished his round with three straight birdies, shooting a 75 (+4) to tie for 49
th. In a tie for 58
th was
Bryce Wheeler, who shot a 76 (+5) with one birdie.
Ryan Gallagher recorded a 79 (+8) with one birdie to end in a tie for 93
rd.
GVSU tees off early tomorrow morning, starting at 8:30 eastern. They are once again playing with Central Oklahoma and Missouri S&T.
