NOBLESVILLE, IND. – The GVSU men's golf team closed out their final event of the regular season, finishing fourth at the Ken Partridge Invitational.
Drew Coble and
Manuel Cue Vargas each earned top five finishes.
Results
Missouri S&T took the team title, carding a final round of five under to finish at -5. Wayne State was second at two over, followed by Ferris State in third at +5. The Lakers were fourth, shooting a final round of 284 (-4) to end at six over. Rounding out the top five was host Indianapolis at eight over.
Coble was the individual runner-up, ending at six under. He carded a final round score of 70 (-2) with three birdies to end at six under. Cue was in a tie for fifth, as he also recorded a 70 with three birdies, ending at four under.
Murphy Kehoe competed as an individual this tournament, coming in a tie for 11
th. He also had a final round of 70, sinking three birdies to close at even par. In a tie for 26
th was
Bryce Wheeler, closing out the tournament with a round of 72 (E), making three birdies on the day to finish at four over.
Ryan Gallagher carded a 72 today, with four birdies, finishing in a tie for 76
th at +12. Rounding out the lineup for the Lakers was
Charlie Cooley, who came in a tie for 94
th, totaling three birdies in his round of 74 (+2) to close at +16.
This event closed out the regular season for the Lakers, as they turn their attention to the GLIAC Championships, starting on April 18
th.
