Box Score MIDLAND, Mich. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team claimed the GLIAC Tournament Championship for the first time in program history after sweeping Wayne State 4-0 Sunday (April 27) morning. The Lakers improve to 15-2 on the season.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Lucas Gonzalez and
Victor Lopes clinched the doubles point for the Lakers with a 6-4 win at the top doubles position.
Denys Zamaraiev and
Chimo Minguez tallied a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action,
Denys Zamaraiev claimed a 7-5, 6-0 straight set win at the top singles position.
Victor Lopes clinched the win with a 7-6, 6-2 straight set win at No. 3 singles.
Jorge Ruiz posted a 6-2, 7-6 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
