The #11 Grand Valley State Laker baseball team (24-9, 7-5) will host Roosevelt University in a four-game series starting today. First pitch for game one is set for 3 p.m. at the GVSU Baseball Field. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m., while the series finale set for Sunday will begin at 12 noon.
The Lakers enter with the top-rated pitching staff in the GLIAC, sporting a team earned run average of 3.80. Four GVSU starters,
Collin Bradley (3/2.30), Jayden Denter (5/2.39),
Allan Thorington (6/3.06) and
Owen Avery (9/4.34), rank among the top 10 in the GLIAC individually. In addition, Grand Valley State leads the league in saves with 12.Â
Offensively, the Lakers rank second in team batting average (.310) with five starters hitting over .331. GVSU leads the GLIAC in home runs (31) and triples (16), while ranking second in runs scored (244).Â
