#6 Grand Valley State split a GLIAC doubleheader at Parkside Saturday afternoon, dropping game one 4-1, but rebounded with a 7-5 win in game two. The Lakers, who won three of four in the series, are now 19-5 overall and 3-1 in GLIAC action.

Evan Morrison opened the game by reaching on a throwing error and advancing to second. LF
Ryan Dykstra doubled home Morrison and Dykstra scored on a
Jonas Gulbrandsen fielder's choice to give GVSU a 2-0 lead. The Lakers added two runs in the top of the third on one hit. Morrison singled, stole second and 1B
Jovan Gill walked and Gulbrandsen was hit by a pitch. C
Brendan Guciardo walked with bases load and 3B
Caleb Estrada plated Gill with a sac fly.
Morrison set the plate again with a single to lead off the seventh, followed by a Gill single to center. Gulbrandsen then hit a 3-run home run to left center to up the Laker lead to 7-1. Parkside scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth.
Senior LHP
Allan Thorington went the distance and picked up the win on the mound. He yielded five runs, four earned, on eight hits with three strikeouts in a career-high 9.0 inning pitched. Thorington threw 97 pitches, 71 for strikes, produced 15 fly outs and seven ground outs as he improved to 2-0.
Gulbrandsen was 1-4 with a 3-run home run and Morrison was 2-5 with two runs scored. Dykstra was 1-5 with an RBI and two runs, Gill was 1-4 with two runs scored.
Game 1
Grand Valley State dropped a 4-1 decision in game one with
Collin Bradley on the mound. Bradley allowed four runs, all unearned, on four hits with two strikeouts. Bradley has allowed 10 runs in his last three outings, nine of which are unearned.
The Lakers' lone run came in the top of the first when LF
Ryan Dykstra and 1B
Jovan Gill recorded back-to-back doubles. Grand Valley State managed just one hit after the first inning.
