#9 Grand Valley State (15-4) swept a non-conference doubleheader from Gannon Friday afternoon at the GVSU Baseball Field. The Lakers won game one 8-2 and game two 5-4 in walk-off fashion. GVSU and Gannon will conclude the four-game series Saturday (Mar. 15) at 12 noon.

The Lakers put two runs on the board in the bottom of the first on three hits. SS

Jonas Gulbrandsen singled home Dykstra to give GVSU a 2-0 lead. Morrison doubled home two runs in the bottom of the second and 3B

Brendan Guciardo who tripled to open the bottom of the third.
Gannon scored a pair of runs in the fifth inning, but the Lakers added three in the bottom of the sixth on four hits, three of which were triples. Dykstra tripled to open the inning, followed by a
Jovan Gill RBI single to right. Gulbrandsen and Guciardo tallied RBI triples to up the lead to 8-2.
Senior RHP
Jayden Dentler picked up his fourth win of the year (4-0), yielding two runs on six hits with three strikeouts. He allowed a single to open the game and then retired 10 consecutive batters.Â
Guciardo was 3-3 with two triples and one RBI, while Morrison was 2-3 with two RBI. Gill was 2-3 with two RBI and Gulbrandsen was 2-4 with two RBI. VanEnkevort also was 2-3 with a run scored. The Laker tallied 14 hits, including five triples and a double.Â

Game 2
GVSU led the entire game until a Gannon two-out, two-run home run that tied the game (4-4) in the top of the ninth. However, with two outs

Nick Krstich hit a 1-1 pitch into the left center gap that scored Stimac and gave the Lakers a 5-4 walk-off win.Â
Dykstra opened the scoring for the Lakers with a solo home run over the batter's eye in centerfield. The Golden Knights tied the game in the top of the second, but GVSU added two runs in the bottom half of the frame. 3B
Caleb Estrada walked to open the inning and moved to third on a Stimac single to right. Krstich plated Estrada with a single to center and Morrison singled to left to score Stimac. Estrada doubled to right center with two outs in the seventh and Stimac came through with a two-out, RBI single to left to score Estrada.Â
Collin Bradley got the start on the mound, yielding two unearned runs on five hits with three strikeouts in 6.0 innings. VanEnkevort tallied the win, allowing two runs on two hits with four strikeouts in 1.2 innings.Â

Krstich was 2-5 with two RBI, while Stimac was 3-5 with one RBI and two runs scored. VanEnkevort, Gulbrandsen and Estrada each recorded two hits. The Lakers once again tallied 14 hits, including two doubles from Estrada, and one each from Gulbrandsen and VanEnkevort. Â
In addition to picking up the win in game two, VanEnkevort also tossed out two potential runs at the plate from centerfield.Â
