Grand Valley State athletics announced today the football schedule for the 2026 football season that will feature 11 games, five at home and six on the road.
The Lakers will open the season on the road at Charleston (WV) University Thursday, August 27. GVSU will have a White Out for the home opener on Thursday, September 3 versus West Texas A&M at 7 p.m., followed by a road contest on Saturday, September 12 at former GLIAC foe Ashland. The Lakers will return home for a Family Day matchup on Saturday, September 19 versus Judson at 7 p.m.
Grand Valley State will open GLIAC action with a Homecoming contest versus Wayne State at 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 3. The Lakers will make a trip to Michigan Tech on Saturday, October 10, and return home for the Anchor-Bone contest versus Ferris State on Saturday, October 17 at 3 p.m. GVSU will have back-to-back GLIAC road games at Saginaw Valley State on Saturday, October 24 and Roosevelt on Saturday, October 31. Senior Day and the final home game of the regular season will be held on Saturday, November 7 versus Northern Michigan at 1 p.m. The regular season finale will be Saturday, November 14 at Davenport.
