Sengphrachanh Wins DII Women’s Tennis Singles ITA Cup Championship

ROME, Ga. – Sophomore Natasha Sengphrachanh claimed the DII women's tennis singles ITA Cup Championship Sunday (Oct. 19) morning. Sengphrachanh becomes the first player in program history to win the ITA Cup championship. The ITA Championship features the top singles and doubles players in the country. 
 
Sengphrachanh claimed a 1-6, 6-3, 6-0 three-set win in the championship match. She went 4-0 on the weekend to claim the singles championship dropping just two sets that features the best singles players in the country. In the fall season, Sengphrachanh has posted a 10-0 record winning both the ITA Midwest Regional Championship and ITA Cup Championship.
 
GVSU also had Bora Bakici and Patricio Sepulveda from the men's team compete in doubles action at the ITA Cup. The two advanced to the quarterfinals after claiming a 7-5, 3-6, 10-7 three-set win in their first match. This was the first year GVSU had players from both the women's and men's team compete at the ITA Cup.
