PALM BEACH GARDENS, FLA. – The GVSU men's golf team was down in Florida for the DII National Preview Tournament. Following the opening two rounds of play, the Lakers are tied for fourth.
Results
Colorado Christian is in the lead after two rounds, sitting at -7. Behind them in second is Oklahoma Christian, who carded a -4 through two rounds. In third is Palm Beach Atlantic at +2, followed by GVSU and Florida Southern tied for fourth at five over.
Drew Coble had a good first day on the links, shooting rounds of 67 (-4) and 71 (E). He currently is in fourth place, making seven birdies on the day. A couple of strokes back of Coble is
Bryce Wheeler who is tied for sixth. Wheeler had rounds of 69 (-2) and 71 to sit at -2, sinking eight birdies on the day.
Charlie Cooley is tied for 11
th, as he carded rounds of 70 (-1) and 72 (+2). Cooley made three birdies in each round to finish at even par.
Manuel Cue Vargas made two birdies in his rounds of 74 (+3) and 79 (+7) to finish the day in a tie for 59
th at +11.
Andrew Gwilliams is tied for 70
th at +17, as he carded rounds of 80 (+9) and 79 with three birdies.
GVSU tees off for round three starting at 8:20 tomorrow morning.
