ALLENDALE – The Grand Valley State softball team clinched an at large berth in the NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament announced today by the NCAA.
The Lakers were named the six seed and will face the three seed Ohio Dominican in the first round on Thursday, May 9 at 3:30 PM in Nashville, Tennessee. Trevecca Nazarene was named the two seed in the region and will host the bottom half of the Midwest Region. Northwood earned the seventh seed after winning the GMAC Tournament and will play Trevecca in the first round.
The winner of the bottom half will advance to the Midwest Super Regionals against the winner of the top half which is being hosted by the top seed Indianapolis. The two winners will play a best of three series for the right to go to the College World Series in Longwood, Florida.
