Nathan Logan gave GVSU a 2-1 lead with a solo home run in the top of the second, but the Warriors answered with two runs in the third and fourth innings.Â

GVSU scored two more runs in the top of the fifth when Logan walked with two outs and Gulbrandsen followed with a single. Guciardo tallied a 2-RBI double to center to pull the Lakers within one (5-4).Â

Grand Valley State added a run in the top of the seventh after bac- to-back singles by Gulbrandsen and Guciardo. CF
Ayden VanEnkevort reached on an error by the right fielder that plated Gulbrandsen to once again pull GVSU within a run (6-5).Â

Nick Rutkowski was tagged with the loss despite pitching well with the wind blowing out. He allowed six runs, four of which were earned, on eight hits in five innings pitched.Â

SS Conoor Schuman was 2-5 with two doubles, while Gulbrandsen, Guciardo and VanEnkevort each recorded a pair of hits. Logan was 1-4 with a HR and two runs scored, while Guciardo drove in a pair with a double. Gulbrandsen also scored a pair of runs.Â
