DETROIT – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team fell 7-0 at Wayne State Friday (Apr. 12) afternoon. The Lakers fall to 8-8 on the season.
Wayne State claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Taylor Barrett and
Neus Ramos claimed a 7-6 win at the top doubles position.
Vasileia Griva and
Rachel Sam dropped a tough 3-6 decision at No. 2 doubles.
Anna Soteras and
Vale Mozas fell 4-6 at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action,
Vasileia Griva dropped a tough 6-4, 4-6, 2-6 three-set decision at the top singles position.
Taylor Barrett lost a tough 2-6, 3-6 decision at No. 2 singles.
Anna Soteras dropped a 3-6, 6-2, 4-6 three-set decision at No. 3 singles.
Rachel Sam fell 3-6, 4-6 at No. 4 singles. Neus Romas lost a 5-7, 2-6 decision at No. 5 singles, while
Vale Mozas dropped a tough 2-6, 6-1, 9-11 three-set decision at No. 6 singles.
The Lakers will return home this Sunday (Apr. 14) when they host Saginaw Valley State. First serve is set for 1:00 PM at the GVSU Tennis Courts outside in Allendale.
