Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Grand Valley State dropped a pair of tough games at Rollins College Saturday, dropping a 5-3 decision to Ashland in 11 innings, then falling 4-3 to the home standing Rollins College Tars. The Lakers fall to 7-5 on the year. 
 
Game 1 
 
The Eagles scored two runs in the second inning, one of which was earned, while the Lakers answered with one in bottom of the fourth. 3B Jonas Gulbrandsen singled to open the inning and moved to second on a walk to MacArthur Graybill. RF Justin Mansager moved up the runners with a sac bunt and Gulbrandsen scored on a sac fly from LF Ryan Dykstra. 
 
GVSU took the lead in the sixth with a Graybill single, followed by a 2-run HR to left off the bat of Mansager. 
 
Ashand tied the game in the top of the eighth with a run and added two unearned runs in the top of the 11^th.
 
Nick Rutkowski was solid in his start, yielding thee runs, two of which were earned with four strikeouts and just one walk in seven innings. Relief pitcher Michael Riley pitched the final four innings, giving up two unearned runs on four hits with three strikeouts. 
 
Mansager was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, while Dykstra was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Gulbrandsen was 2-for-5 with a run scored and Logan Anderson collected a pair of hits. 
 
Game 2 
 
Rollins claimed a 4-3 win over the Lakers. 
 
The Tars struck first with back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the second, but the Lakers tied the game in the top of the third when Gulbrandsen singled home Schuman who singled and went to second on a walk to Nott. 
 
GVSU took a 3-1 lead in the top of the fourth when Guciardo singled and went to third when Nate Logan reached on an error. 1B Jake Rydquist doubled to right field to plate two runs. 
 
Rollins tied the game with a 2-run triple to right field 
 
Rollins tallied a pair of singles around a fly out to center with one out and scored an unearned run to take a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the eighth. 
 
Schuman was 2-for-5, while Nott, Gulbrandsen, Guciardo, Logan and Rydquist each collected a hit.
