AZUSA, Calif. – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team fell 4-1 at Azusa Pacific Monday (Mar. 4) afternoon in their first of three matches this week in California. The Lakers fall to 6-4 on the season.
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.
Sean Miller and
Freddy Cossio tallied a 6-3 win at the top singles position.
Jorge Ruiz and
Chimo Minguez recorded a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles.
Stephen Claassen and
Lawrence Ivanov dropped a tough 6-7 decision at No. 3 doubles.
On the singles side,
Victor Lopes dropped a tough 2-6, 7-6, 3-6 three-set decision at No. 4 singles.
Sean Miller dropped a tough 4-6, 3-6 decision at no. 2 singles.
Jorge Ruiz fell 4-6, 3-6 at no. 4 singles, while
Denys Zamaraiev dropped a 1-6, 3-6 decision at the top singles position.
The Lakers will travel to face Biola tomorrow (Mar. 5) in La Mirada, California. First serve is set for 7:00 PM ET.
