The Grand Valley State (11-10, 3-1) baseball team will return to action Friday at Purdue Northwest (8-9, 0-4) in a GLIAC matchup. Game one on Friday is set for 1 p.m. (ET), with game two scheduled for 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one. The Lakers will then host Wayne State in a GLIAC matchup on Saturday at the GVSU Baseball Field. Saturday's game will mark the first home game of the 2024 season after 23 on the road or at neutral sites. Grand Valley State, along with a little more than half of the Northern Sun Interscholastic Conference (NSIC),  the last DII teams in the country to host a home game. Â
 GVSU opened GLIAC play with a 3-1 record last weekend, sweeping Parkside on Saturday and splitting with Saginaw Valley State on Sunday.Â
The Laker pitching staff leads the way with a 3.68 ERA, allowing a .236 opponent batting average. The staff has 163 strikeouts and have walked just 76. In addition, GVSU opponents have scored 84 runs, 70 of which were earned,
