Box Score TIFFIN, Ohio – The Grand Valley State men's tennis team lost to Tiffin 5-2 on the road Friday (Feb. 9) afternoon. The Lakers fall to 1-3 on the season.
 
Tiffin claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Chimo Minguez and Jorge Ruiz claimed a 7-5 victory at No. 3 doubles. Sean Miller and Victor Lopes dropped a tough 6-7 decision at the top doubles position. Freddy Cossio and Lucas Gonzalez lost 2-6 at the No. 2 doubles position.
 
On the singles side, Denys Zamaraiev tallied a 6-7, 7-6, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles. Jorge Ruiz claimed a 6-3, 6-1 straight set win at No. 5 singles. Chimo Minguez dropped a tough 7-5, 2-6, 2-6 three-set decision at No. 4 singles. Victor Lopes lost a tough 7-6, 3-6, 2-6 three-set decision at No. 3 singles. 
 
The Lakers will close out this weekend's road trip at Findlay tomorrow (Feb. 10) in Findlay, Ohio. First serve is set for 4:00 PM.
