DETROIT, MICH. – The GVSU women's volleyball team opened their weekend with a thrilling five set win over Wayne State. The victory moves GVSU to 12-1 overall, and 4-1 in GLIAC.
In the win, senior setter

rd triple-double of her career, setting a new NCAA record. Gates had 13 her sophomore year, 15 more as a junior, then has five already this year to set the new all-time mark.
Wayne State took the first two sets, 21-25, 19-25, but GVSU responded with the next three sets 25-22, 25-22, 15-13. Kaitlyn Bingham aces, to take a 10-8 lead. Wayne State fought back to take a 12-11 lead, but GVSU would hold one, ending the game on a 4-1 run, as
