HOMER, GA – The Grand Valley women's golf team split their two match play matchups today at the UNG Bracket Challenge. The Lakers fell to Columbus State in the quarterfinals but rebounded to take down UNC Pembroke in the semifinals.
In the quarterfinal round, GVSU fell 3-2 to CSU.
Kay Zubkus shot a 79 and
Paula Badino shot a 76, as they each won their matchups by five strokes.
Olivia Stoll (80),
Megan Miron (85), and
Julia Sanchez (86) each fell in their matchups.
The Lakers moved to the semifinal round to take on UNC Pembroke, who they defeated 3-1-1. Stoll shot a 71 and dominated her matchup, winning by 10 strokes, while Zubkus (79) and Sanchez (77) each won by four strokes. Miron (75) tied her matchup, while Badino (84) fell in hers.
The Lakers will play their final round tomorrow against Lee, teeing off at 8:20.
