ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team fell 4-3 to Tiffin Friday (March 17) afternoon at Premier Athletic and Tennis Club. The Lakers drop to 7-5 on the season, while Tiffin improves to 10-3.
Tiffin claimed the doubles with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Rachel Sam and
Estefania Hernandez earned a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles.
Vasileia Griva and
Taylor Barrett dropped a tough 4-6 decision at No. 1 doubles.
Ana Romero Gonzalez and
Anna Soteras dropped a tough 4-6 decision at No. 3 doubles.
On the singles side,
Anna Soteras claimed a 6-0, 7-6 straight set win at No. 4 singles.
Estefania Hernandez earned a 7-6, 7-5 straight set win at No. 5 singles.
Amanda Diaz tallied a 6-1, 6-3 straight set win at No. 6 singles.
Vasileia Griva dropped a tough 6-3, 4-6, 3-6 three-set decision at No. 1 singles.
The Lakers will return to the courts next weekend Friday, March 24 when they travel to Saginaw Valley State in the GLIAC opener. First serve is set for 7:00 PM.
