PLAINFIELD, Ill – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team defeated Lewis 4-3 Saturday night (Feb. 18) at Five Star Tennis Center. The Lakers improved to 4-2 on the season, while Lewis falls to 2-3 on the season.
 
The Lakers claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. Taylor Barrett and Vasileia Griva claimed a 7-6 win at No. 1 doubles. Sophia Hanover and Amanda Diaz tallied a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.
 
On the singles side, Vasileia Griva claimed a 5-7, 6-3, 6-0, three-set win at No. 1 singles. Anna Soteras earned a 6-1, 6-4 straight set win at No. 4 singles. Estefania Hernandez tallied a 6-3, 7-6 win at No. 5 singles.
 
The Lakers will return to the courts on February 23 when they travel to Midland, Mich. to take on Northwood.
