Sage Mortimer Video

Grand Valley State women's wrestling signee, Sage Mortimer  (Springville, Utah), who wrestles for Titan Mercury, captured the 2023 USA Wrestling Women's 50 KG Senior National Championship Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas. Mortimer defeated Samara Chavez 12-10 in the finals.
 
Mortimer has now qualified for the 2024 United States Olympic Trials that will be held in State College, Pennsylvania April 19 – 20, 2024.
 
Grand Valley State, under the direction of first-year head coach Jake Short, will officially begin wrestling as a varsity sport in the fall of 2024.
