THE GAME
#2 Grand Valley State will host Michigan Tech in a GLIAC contest at Lubbers Stadium. GVSU will celebrate Homecoming 2023 and seven former student-athletes will be inducted into the GVSU Athletics Hall of Fame. Former Laker gridiron greats Brandon Carr and Josh Bourke are 2023 inductees.
THE SERIES
Grand Valley State leads the all-time series by a 31-4 margin. The Lakers claimed a 42-7 victory over the Huskies in Houghton in 2022 and defeated Michigan Tech twice in 2021. The Lakers have won seven consecutive in the series and are 26-2 versus MTU since 1985. The Lakers have scored 40 or more points 12 times in the last 19 games and 19 times overall versus the Huskies.
Since 11-3-2001 GVSU has been ranked in the top 4 of a D2 poll 158 weeks (out of a total of 258 weeks).Â

GVSU Announces Alcohol Sales At Lubbers Stadium
Grand Valley State announced it would implement alcohol sales at Lubbers Stadium starting with the Homecoming contest versus Michigan Tech on October 28 to enhance the fan experience at home football games.
In-stadium sales
Trained and licensed servers will sell beer and seltzer at four Locations in Lubbers Stadium. A maximum of two alcoholic beverages may be purchased per transaction.Â
Beer sales throughout the entire stadium will conclude at the start of the fourth quarter, and alcohol will not be allowed to leave the stadium. Personnel at the gates will ensure that all containers containing alcohol are poured out and empty as patrons exit the venue.

ID required
Regardless of age, everyone will be required to produce a valid photo ID each time alcohol is purchased. Accepted IDs include valid driver's licenses, military ID cards, passports, and government-issued photo ID cards. Grand Valley State will NOT issue wristbands for a future purchase and dining dollars cannot be used to purchase alcohol.  Â
