REMINDER: It is risky to serve alcoholic beverages to anyone other than yourself and your immediate party. Michigan law requires a license before a person can sell, trade, or give away alcoholic beverages. A violation of this law is a felony. A social host does not need a license to serve his/her invited guests who fall within the usual understanding of friends and personal visitors. A social host may be criminally and civilly liable to guests and others for injuries resulting from serving alcohol, especially to a minor. A social host should monitor their guests' consumption of alcohol as they may also be held responsible for the consequences of guests who overindulge.

IN-STADIUM ALCOHOL SALES
To enhance the fan experience at home football games, GVSU has implemented in-stadium alcohol sales beginning Saturday, October 28th. TIP certified servers will sell 12oz or 16oz beer and seltzer at four
locations in Lubbers Stadium. Alcohol will not be served to visibly intoxicated patrons. A maximum of two alcoholic beverages per person may be purchased per transaction. Alcohol sales throughout the entire stadium will conclude at the start of the fourth quarter, and alcohol will not be allowed to leave the stadium. Personnel at the gates will ensure that all containers containing alcohol are poured out and empty as patrons exit the venue. No alcoholic or any other beverages are allowed to be brought into the stadium for consumption without the expressed prior consent of GVSU.
ID required - Regardless of age, everyone will be required to produce a valid photo ID each time alcohol is purchased. Alcohol will not be sold to minors. Accepted photo IDs include valid driver's licenses, military ID cards, passports, and government-issued photo ID cards. Grand Valley State will NOT issue wristbands for a future purchase and dining dollars cannot be used to purchase alcohol. Individuals consuming alcohol must be able to always produce a valid photo ID, as stadium personnel may ask to see an ID at locations away from the original point of sale. Anyone consuming alcohol must be able to prove—at any time or location—that they are age 21 or older.
Law enforcement -Â Law enforcement and game day staff are trained and focused on alertness to binge drinking, underage drinking, and other potential alcohol-related incidents in all areas of the stadium. Anyone in violation of state law, stadium rules or University policy may be subject to law enforcement intervention, judicial action, removal and trespass from future athletic events or trespass from University property. Fans are encouraged to alert GVSU Public Safety about inappropriate or unruly behavior by either calling or texting 616-331-3255 and reporting your stadium location. Upon receipt of your message, stadium personnel and/or law enforcement personnel will assist as necessary.
