FINDLAY, OHIO – For the third consecutive tournament, the GVSU men's golf team took home the team title, winning by 13 strokes. The Lakers shot a final round of nine under to win the Doc Spragg Invitational for the second straight year.
Results
GVSU carded a final round of 279 (-9) to pull away from Findlay and win their third event of the fall season. Host Findlay ended in second at ten under, shooting one over during the final round. Ferris State ended in third at four under, followed by Tiffin and Ashland both tied for fourth at two under.
Nick Krueger claimed his first individual win of the season, shooting a final round of 66 (-6) to jump up six spots and win the tournament, shooting -10.
Manuel Cue Vargas had a final round of 68 (-4) to climb into fifth, ending at five under.
Charlie Cooley and
Andrew Gwilliams both tied for sixth at four under, with both shooting rounds of 71. One stroke back of them was
Drew Coble in a tie for 11
th, ending at three under, carding a final round of 74 (+2).
Alex Jordan ended in a tie for 22
nd, shooting even par for the tournament, with a final round of 74 (+2).
