ALLENDALE—The Grand Valley State athletic programs combined to earn 115 GLIAC Academic honors during the Fall 2022 season, the conference announced.
 
The Lakers had 73 student-athletes named to the All-Academic teams and 42 student-athletes named to the Academic Excellence teams.
 
GVSU was one of two schools to have 100 student-athletes or more honored for their academic success. The women's cross country team led the GLIAC in academic honors, totaling 23 student-athletes earning academic honors.
 
Criteria states the student-athlete must be an active member on the roster at the end of the season, not a freshman or a first-year transfer student. GLIAC All-Academic teams are comprised of those student-athletes that meet criteria and carry a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0-3.49. GLIAC Academic Excellence teams are comprised of student-athletes that have a cumulative GPA of 3.50-4.0. Grades are based on marks from the fall semester of 2022.
