Grand Valley State dropped a 4-3 GLIAC tilt to Davenport Friday afternoon at the Laker Baseball Field. GVSU falls to 27-14 overall and 10-7 in GLIAC action, while Davenport improves to 24-19 and 12-5. The teams are scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

Christian Faust sacraficed Nelson and Nott to second and third with one out and DH Nate Logan walked to load the bases and 1B
Cade Stanton reached on fielders choice to score Nelson and give GVSU a 1-0 lead. Davenport scored two runs in the top of the fifth on two hits and a hit batter to take a 2-1 lead and the Panthers added two runs on a two-out HR to push the lead to 4-1 in the top of the seventh.
The Lakers added a run in the bottom of the seventh when Nelson walked and Nott was hit by a pitch. Logan singled home Nelson to pull GVSU within two.
Christian Faust hit a two-out solo home run in the bottom of the ninth for the final margin.
Collin Bradley was tagged with loss, yielding four runs on five hits with three strikeouts in seven innings of work.
Ben Thomas pitched two innings of perfect baseball, retiring all six batters he faced. Nelson was 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored, while Nott recorded a hit and reached base three times. Faust and Logan each collected a hit and drove in a run and Stanton plated a run. C
