GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Grand Valley State women's tennis team defeated Lewis 6-1 Tuesday afternoon at Premier Athletic & Tennis Club. The Lakers improve to 12-5 on the season and will host Saginaw Valley State in the regular season finale Saturday, April 23.
 
GVSU claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Vasileia and Vera Griva claimed a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Estefania Hernandez and Taylor Barrett tallied a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles. Marily Canellopoulos and Marija Leko dropped a tough 6-3 decision at No. 1 doubles.
 
On the singles side, Vera Griva claimed a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. Marija Leko tallied a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles, while Estefania Hernandez added a 6-3, 7-5 win at No. 4 singles. Taylor Barrett claimed a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles, while Marily Canellopoulos tallied a 7-6, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
