UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. -- The Grand Valley State men's basketball team fell in the GLIAC quarterfinals, 70-58, to the 4-seed Saginaw Valley Wednesday (March 2) night at O'Neill Arena. The Lakers end their season at 17-11 overall while Saginaw Valley advances to face 8-seed Davenport in Houghton, Michigan this Saturday (March 5).
The teams traded leads through muuch of the first half, with GVSU holding a 30-29 edge at the break. But Saginaw Valley would catch fire behind Delano Smith and Darnell Hoskins, who combined for 41 points, to run away from GVSU.

Christian Negron added 12 points and nine boards, but it was not enough.
