As a Senior (2021 COVID year *did not count towards eligibility*): First team All-GLIAC selection after being named preseason Player of the Year... Started all 19 games, averaging 27.6 minutes... averaged 13.6 points and 8.0 rebounds with a .474 shooting percentage and .810 free throw percentage... Had 43 assists, 17 steals and 13 blocks... Scored in double-figures 14 times with four double-doubles... Season-high 24 points against Parkside on Jan. 26... Had 15 rebounds at Ashland on Jan. 15... Scored in double digits in nine of final 10 games of the season, including both GLIAC Tournament games... Led the Lakers to a second-place finish in the conference and appearance in the GLIAC Tournament semifinals.Â
As a Junior (2019-20): NABC All-American and D2CCA honorable mention All-American... First Laker to earn NABC All-American status since 2007-08... Unanimous first team All-Region selection... First team All-GLIAC... Averaged a double-double, recording 14 of them on the season... Led the conference with 10.0 rebounds a game and ranked fourth with 18.4 points per game... Started all 30 games and averaged 31 minutes per contest... Scored 39 points in double-overtime win at Northern Michigan (Feb. 20), the most points by a Laker in a single game since 1997... As a sophomore (2018-19): Earned second team All-GLIAC honors... Appeared in 31 games and averaged 26.4 minutes per contest... scored 14 PPG on a .533 shooting percentage, including a 39% clip from three and 75% from the line... Led the Lakers with 6.8 rebounds per game and averaged just under a block and steal per game... Eclipsed the 20-point mark five times, including a season-high 27 points in GLIAC Tournament win over Ashland on March 5... Season-high 14 rebounds as part of a double-double against McKendree on Dec. 15... Recorded four double-doubles on the season.
As a Freshman (2017-18): GLIAC Freshman of the Year and Second Team All-GLIAC honoree... Finished the season with a .561 shooting percentage, which ranked fifth in the GLIAC... Appeared in 24 games, making 20 starts, averaging 24.2 minutes per game… Finished second in team scoring average (11.4) and led the team in rebounds per game (6.6)… Scored double figures in 15 games including a season high 20 points in a win over Davenport (2/10/18)… Notched three double-doubles… 18 points and 11 rebounds in a win over Saginaw Valley (1/6/18), 14 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Purdue Northwest (1/27/18), 18 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Ashland…Â
High School: Prepped at West Ottawa under head coach Steve Windemuller…Received AP All-State Second Team honors as a senior, as he averaged 18.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.1 blocks per game…Shot 64 percent from the field, 72 percent from the line, and 45 percent from beyond the arc…Named to the All-OK Red Conference Team as a junior, averaging 16.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.4 steals per game…Shot 56 percent from the field, 72 percent at the line, and 38 percent from three-point range…Helped Panthers to the first OK Red Conference championship in 12 years, a 17-4 overall record, and a 15-game season-opening win streak…Received All-State Honorable Mention plaudits and voted West Ottawa’s most valuable player twice…Honored on the Holland Sentinel All-Area First Team twice, while being named to the Grand Rapids Dream Team…Earned Academic All-State honors…Also played two years of football at West Ottawa…Participated in school’s broadcasting class for two years.
