The Grand Valley State women's tennis team defeated Hillsdale on the road Saturday (Feb. 12). GVSU improves to 3-2 on the season.
The Lakers swept all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point.
Marily Canellopoulos and
Marija Leko earned a hard fought 7-6 win at No. 1 doubles, winning the tiebreaker 6-3.
Vasileia Griva and
Vera Griva tallied a 6-1 win at No.2 doubles, while
Estefania Hernandez and
Taylor Barrett claimed a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
On the singles side,
Marija Leko claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles.
Vasileia Griva tallied a 3-6, 6-0, 7-5 win at No. 3 singles, while
Taylor Barrett claimed a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles.
Estefania Hernandez chipped in a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
Vera Griva dropped a tough 6-4, 6-7, 8-10 decision at No. 1 singles.
The Lakers are back on the hard courts Saturday, February 19 at 2:00 PM as they host Walsh at MVP Athletic Club on Crahen Avenue.
