ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Grand Valley State Men's and Women's Track & Field team had 81 student-athletes make the Dean's List for the Fall 2021 semester, earning a 3.5 GPA or higher. The women's team earned a team grade point average of 3.382. The men's team earned a 3.187 GPA.
"We are proud of what our student-athletes have produced on the course/ track as well as in the classroom," said head coach
Jerry Baltes. "Our student- athletes had an incredible semester in the classroom, and it is always exciting to see all of the success each team member has throughout the year. It is our goal to be competitive athletically each and every season, but most important is for each of our student-athletes to take care of business in the classroom to put them in the best position to not only earn a degree but to be prepared for life beyond college."
The women's team had 18 student-athletes earn a 4.0 GPA including
Klaudia O'Malley and Allie Ludge. O'Malley and Ludge also achieved their first NCAA DII Provisional Mark for the 2021-22 track and field season with O'Malley finishing third with a personal-best time of 9:23.56 and Ludge in fifth with a time of 9:27.95 in the 3000m at the GVSU Holiday Open on December 3. On the men's team, 10 athletes earned a 4.0 GPA this Fall including
Hunter Harding who earned his first NCAA DII Provisional Mark for the 2021-22 season finishing fourth with a distance of 20.08m in weight throw.
