ALLENDALE, Mich. – The No. 9 Grand Valley State Lakers completed the sweep of Concordia-St. Paul with a commanding 18-2 win on Saturday. GVSU improves to 5-1 on the season and 2-0 in GLIAC play.
For the second consecutive game, the Lakers held the Golden Bears to just one goal in each half. After a quick five goals in the first 8:30 by

Olivia Esposito,
Sophie Conroy (2) and
Sydney Stone, Molly Moynihan scored CSP's lone goal of the first half. GVSU would head into halftime with an 11-goal lead, with goals coming from five different Lakers.
Champagne led the game with six goals, including a clock-expiring net that was almost as clean as Thursday night's behind-the-back score. Conroy (5) and Stone (3) each added multiple goals to hand CSP a 16-goal deficit. On the draw,
Molly Bursinger led the game with eight controls, one more than the Golden Bears had as a team.

Payton Neil earned her fourth win of the season with seven saves in the net and four ground balls. Graduate student
Anna Gritter picked up three ground balls and caused one turnover for the GVSU defense that held the Golden Bears to just 11 shots. As a team, the Lakers caused 13 turnovers, compared to the Golden Bears' three.
GVSU return to action at home next Saturday, April 10, with a noon draw against crosstown rival, Davenport. The all-time record between the two teams favors the Lakers, 4-0.
